Easter bride

Although my daughters are 23 and 24 I still make up Easter

baskets complete with stuffed animal.  Since Danielle is

getting married this year I thought it would be fun to put a

bride bear in her basket.  Good idea but no bride bear to

be found.  So I bought a bear and made a veil and

wedding dress.  Found a groom no problem.

Lost a horse or found a rope?

It has been a while since I wrote anything here.  I feel like the quote…

“I’ve been so busy lately that I don’t know if I found a rope or

lost my horse.”

I did finish a card I have wanted to do…Flowers to butterflies (above).

I also have continued regular work on the library mural.

One of the reasons I did the last drawing was to clarify what

I want to do on the the wall.  So you might see some resemblance

between the two.

happily ever after

With so much of my time and thoughts going to wedding preparations

my most recent collage reflects that.  My daughter, Kimberly, (the one who

is not getting married) commented on this collage…”I like how you put the

horse in the background.”  I thought that was a very insightful comment.

I have not been doing much with my horses except feeding and cleaning.

This past weekend with the wonderful weather we

got the horses out and had a great time riding together!

Spring has sprung and more art is in the air:

It feels like spring today 49 degrees at 9 o’clock.

I added a few more flowers to the vase at the library yesterday.

It is so much fun to be on to the flowers.

I also finished my happy ever after drawing of my dog and cat.

I never really got a good picture to work from for Toetoe (the cat).

But, from a couple old pictures of her and a doll in a brides dress

I came up with this.

Goodbye said the zebra

This is my most recent soul card.  These cards are born from my heart.

Under each collage is written what I am hoping to understand,

change, enjoy etc. in my life.  Then I just cut, glue, paint and write.

This particular soul card is about closing down my rubber stamp

business and starting Rainbow Zebra Graphics,  my daughter getting

married and my obligations to family as a caretaker and the

many other things I do.  These soul cards are very uplifting to me…

they are not usually what I plan.

Wedding invitations

My daughter is getting married this June.

She will be carrying a bouquet of pink Hydrangeas and Gerber daisies

with a few white roses.  I designed her wedding invitations

to reflect her flowers.  I am happy to say I am almost done…

very happy!!

The next flowers I draw will be in the vase next to the fireplace

at Amanda’s Place.

green roses

Have you ever gotten green roses when it wasn’t St. Patrick’s day?

Did you know they existed?  Just wondering…

Happy birthday from the cat and dog

Here are Cowboy (the dog) and Toetoe (the cat) the subjects for a birthday card.

This pen and ink drawing was composed with patience from Cowboy and complete resistance

from Toetoe.  They do not sit together like this…if they in any way touch they both

jump away like they got an electric shock.  So I sketch them one at a time.

Toetoe also refuses to wear hats.

My daughter is getting married in June and inspired me for the subject of my next card…

Cowboy in tux and Toetoe in a veil.  I have the photo I will base Cowboys part….

Still working on the other part…

Fire

Today is Tuesday and I put a “fire” in the fireplace.

It was fun!

Gene was talking about a macaroni salad she made…sounded so

good I made one for dinner…delicious!!!

Tuesday

This is a mural I painted a number of years ago with the help of my good friend Gene.

It was in a local library on the wall of the children’s story room.   It was painted to honor

Genes’ daughter Amanda who died too young.  Due to construction the wall came down.

Under the wall was discovered a fireplace.  Now, on the new clean walls, with the support

of Gene I am painting a fireplace.  Most Tuesdays Gene and I go there I paint and

Gene assists me…we have a fine time!!This is the fireplace so far.I made a “soul” collage of Amanda.  This will be framed and hang over the fireplace.

Just the beginning

Hello world!  I am a little behind to post anything.

My plan was to wish everyone “a happy whatever you

celebrate!”  and I do wish that to you.  My dog Cowboy and

and cat Toetoe also send good wishes.  So here is my

first post…

bye for now.
